Lydia Cavallo Zasa
Lydia Cavallo Zasa is the Director of Almanack Screenwriters, leading its mission to discover and support exceptional artists with groundbreaking stories to share with the world. Helming Almanack Screenwriters since 2015, Lydia has overseen the growth in the organization’s reach beyond its flagship October Colony for feature screenwriters. Under her leadership, Almanack Screenwriters has created episodic labs, explorations into narrative writing for Virtual Reality, and partnerships that offer both in-person and virtual opportunities and community-building for screenwriters around the world.
Lydia is responsible for developing and executing programming, discovering and curating dynamic cohorts of talented screenwriters, building partnerships, and overseeing all operations of the non-profit organization. She previously served as Director of the Columbia University Film Festival and established the school’s ScriptConnect program which links top graduate student writers with the film industry. Her passion for hard working writers with unique voices and powerful stories has been a constant in her work.
