Emma Needell - Original Storytelling

SWC Alum Emma Needell (‘16) has just been identified by Forbes as one of 30 under 30 to keep an eye on. We’ve known that for a while. Emma’s Black List script The Water Man sold to Disney, with Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Films producing and David Oyelowo attached to direct. Her second screenplay, a prison break musical, sold to MGM/Orion, and she is also working on a feature project for Netflix with Oscar-wining director Patrick Osbourne.

Her own words perfectly capture why we are proud to count her as part of our intimate community: “I am a screenwriter, producer, and director who champions original storytelling in a time when Hollywood has become obsessed with reboots, sequels, and IP-driven content.”
